Although these positions do not gaurantee a full-time position, we have had great success using this period to develop salespeople and obtaining some full-time positions for those who have excelled in the seasonal position. The basic responsibilities include: -Selling new Diamondbacks season ticket accounts over the phone or in person through appointments at Bank One Ballpark. -Maintaining database of contacts and sales progression. -Assisting with the renewal of season ticket holders. -Representing the Sales department at various promotional events. Qualifications include: -A bachelor's degree. -The ability to work evenings and weekends. -A professional appearance, strong organizational and communication skills. -Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel. -Baseball sales experience. (preferred) -The ability to speak Spanish. (preferred) As you know, successful sales experience is definitely an asset when seeking new salespeople. NESN delivers exclusive coverage of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Pawtucket Red Sox, Providence Bruins, Big East Basketball, ECAC Football and Hockey, plus NESN SportsDesk, the network’s morning sports news and highlights program; and Front Row Specials, behind the scenes monthly specials about New England sports. Reporting to the President and General Manager and responsible for the network’s program development, production and scheduling. Oversees the strategic program and scheduling in an effort to maximize ratings performance. Utilizes creative initiatives to deliver a superior schedule by maximizing the value of existing program inventory. Optimizes research data to make recommendations to the program and sales executives that will strengthen and clarify the program development process and sales initiatives. Plans, devises and executes the program schedule for the network; creates an effective and innovative schedule to meet customer needs, affiliate expectations and advertiser goals with an eye to optimizing ratings. Provides the overall strategic vision, planning and creative direction of the network’s program schedule. Responsible for managing 30 full-time professionals and the associated expense budgets. *REQUIRED* At least five years of significant programming, scheduling or program planning experience at a senior level. Direct experience in the field of cable television and/or sports programming will be considered a plus. Strong, creative executive with a strategic mind set. Able to function effectively as a member of the senior management team and work well in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, strong financial planning and analytical abilities. An organized business approach to problem solving is vital. Familiarity with production, post, development and programming budgets. Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills required to foresee and adapt to constant changes and challenges within the competitive landscape.
